What will I learn?
Learn how to design and 3d print three fun and unique custom projects with the help of Steven from 3D Printer Academy. Finish the class with 3 original engineering builds of your own.
What kind of projects will I work on?
Projects in this class are designed to inspire creative engineering solutions for everyday problems. You will learn the creative thought process, and design whatever you want!
For example, you can make a portable ice cream machine, an automatic sun tracker, or a solar powered car!
What skill level is this class for?
- This class is designed for all skill levels, even if you don't have a 3d printer yet! You can get a 3d printer for as little as $99 USD!
- If you already have a 3d printer, and you have been 3d printing for a while, you will learn how to design your own unique projects. I'll take you step by step through my creative process.
When does this class take place?
Classes are designed to completed in 2 weeks and should take about 5-10 hours per week. Classes begin the first Friday of each month.
What if I don't have a 3d printer?
The first section of this class will introduce you to 3d printing, show you what 3d printer to buy, how to get one for only $99, how to set it up, and start printing!
What age range is this class for?
All ages: Adults, college students, teenages, and children accompanied by an adult.
In the class you can choose between easier projects and more advanced projects, depending on your age, the age of your children or grandchildren, and your skill level.
Aren't 3D Printers Expensive and difficult to use?
No! You can get a 3d printer for only $99 in person at certain retail stores. Or as little as $189 online in the US.
3D printing may seem intimidating and difficult, but I will help guide you through the whole process. Once you get used to how 3d printers work, it will be as easy as printing a docucment on a regular piece of paper, but in 3d!
I already have a 3d printer, is that ok?

After you have an idea for a project, you'll need the skills to design and 3d model your genius invention.
Engineering is an iterative process. Very rarely will your project come out 100% perfect first try. That's ok, you'll find out what needs to be improved and fix it!
